Causes for Female Facial Hair Growth

Hello FitFam,

Hope you are doing well.

Female Facial hair AKA Hirsutism is something most women dislike. Ladies who bear the brunt of this resort to waxing or shaving. And certainly, that can be a great option to practically deal with this. In today’s blog, I’m going to go a step further and explain the possible reasons why women can have facial hair growth. Read on to find out.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: Commonly referred to as PCOS. This is a condition many women are diagnosed with these days. PCOS can cause an imbalance of sex hormones which may lead to Hirsutism.

Medication: Some medicines/tablets can cause Hirsutism. In such cases, reassess your options. Talk to your doctor and see if you can get alternatives. There are also cases where facial hair growth due to the medication has been reversed. The hair disappears after a few months or years.

Cushing Syndrome: This condition is caused by an excess of cortisol release in the body. The side effect of which can be Hirsutism.

Those are the common reasons for female facial hair growth. If you are diagnosed with PCOS or PCOD and are looking for diet plans. Do get in touch with me for details.
