That time of the month that most women dread? Periods. ANd yes I have a secret remedy that helps keep my period cramps in check. Before we get into that let’s understand the root cause of period cramps. Those cramps that won’t let you sleep all night and make you feel like you are almost dead. Don’t you relate ladies?
During the menstrual cycle your uterus is expelling its inner lining along with blood and other waste. To make this happen the uterus contracts and expands and that causes pain. This can last for a few days depending from person to person.
So here’s what I do when I have these deadly cramps. Sip Turmeric! I usually make Haldi ka doodh or turmeric latte. Just boil milk (about 100ml) add a teaspoon of turmeric to it and continue boiling for a few minutes. This activates the turmeric and the primary ingredient in turmeric curcumin that will then help alleviate your pain. You can add cardamom or jaggery to it. I love jaggery so I choose that. You can also have it without either of them. Just cool this for a bit and you may notice that your cramps have reduced. This is a natural solution instead of painkillers.
