Small Steps that lead to a healthier you

Hello FitFam!
I hope you all are fabulous, happy, and healthy!

Today I want to talk to you about a piece advice which has worked has worked for me in achieving any small or big goal in my life.

Here is one of my favorite quote “It is better to take many small steps in the right direction than to make a great leap forward only to stumble backward”- Old Chinese Proverb.

A lot of people start with big steps at the start with an audacious goal but are unable to sustain it over a period of time. What has rather worked for me and my clients who have achieved their goal of a healthy lifestyle and a fit body is taking small steps over a long period of time.
To achieve any GOAL be it in career, life, or health goals making small progress every day can take you a long way.

A new habit mostly takes from 20 to 30 days to be formed so staring small and saying persistent is the key to make a positive change.

Take a minute and these Answer these questions to yourself:
• How many times have you tried to become an early morning exercise person and failed?
• How many times have you tried to keep your diet clean without any junk food and couldn’t  follow  that?
• How many times have you tried to commit to a strict diet and failed?

If the answer to most or all of them is that you could not continue. Then you can definitely understand there is an issue and the answer is simple, start with small changes.

Enjoy your exercise:
Start an exercise routine which you enjoy like Zumba, Yoga, Swimming, and Aerobics, cardio, cycling, or anything physical activity that you like. It could be playing badminton with friends, playing basketball or dancing. The main aim is to get your body moving and active. If you will enjoy your physical activity you will continue to do it everyday and with time start more specific activities.

Water is important:
Another small yet a very important change for a fit body is, hydrate yourself that will improve your health. For a healthy you, your body needs ample water. Drink around 8-10  glasses of water every day for a healthy life.  You can also have vegetable and fruit juices, herbal teas, Coconut water to keep yourself hydrated.

Watchful eating:
Keeping a watch on your daily calorie intake is also important. Have food rich in nutrients like proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, and good fats. Eat slowly and don’t rush your meals. Maintain a list of foods that you must avoid and paste the same on your refrigerator and keep reminding yourself.

Have no distractions while having meals. Avoid watching TV or using mobile while eating. Always eat in silence and focus on food. Chew properly every bite and feel the food. Try to stop eating before your stomach feels full.

Reduce sugar intake:
Avoiding refined sugar is a very very crucial step. Sugar is present in
everything be it ketchup, soups, packed foods, soft drinks, Cereals. Adult men
take in an average of 24 teaspoons of added sugar per day, according to the
National Cancer Institute. That’s equal to 384 calories. Try a natural option like stevia or jaggery.

Start small and achieve slowly. With all these tips, having a positive approach
towards life is very important. Positive thoughts and positive energy is
important for well being of mind. Start with these small changes and live life
